A note about church services…
The Chant Academy has a full schedule of worship all week as part of their studywhich includes matins, vespers, a vigil and two more liturgies. The Iconography Academy sets its own schedule so that you will finish your icon. Please note that you are not expected to attend all of the worship services. Indeed, the chanting is beautiful and you may decide how much you will attend and how much time you need in the art studio.
Note that on Friday morning, Fr. Anthony will attend only matins and not stay for the liturgy. He will go downstairs to the workshop to begin class since it is the last day and there is much to do. The kitchen staff will bring a “grab-n-go” breakfast to you in the art studio so you don’t have to go back and forth to the dining hall.
Also on Friday we take photographs and bless your icons all together during Vespers. In some cases, it may have to be delayed until Saturday morning Matins or Liturgy, but please note that there is not a lot of time for those who are shuttling to the airport. Please keep all this in mind as you are finishing up and aim for Friday night vespers if possible.
