*Let us know if you can bring a stand mixer, which is recommended for artos because hand kneading this particular type of dough will be difficult. We will have mixers to share, but a few extras would be appreciated. But please be sure that your stand mixer has the dough hook, because that is what you will be using.

**Prosphora stamps are available for purchase from Image and Likeness Iconography. You can view what they have in their shop here: https://www.imageandlikeness.com/the-home-church/ (for free delivery to TLAA use coupon code: TLAA-DLVRY).

Three Academies

While you are here at the Diakonia Retreat Center, you will be able to enjoy the work of the Chanters and Iconographers who have separate Academies. The Chant Academy has a full schedule of class time and worship in the beautiful Panagia Chapel. as they study and practice learning Byzantine notation and the rubrics of the Church. The Iconography studio will be busy sketching, gold gilding and then painting their icon in the St. Gregory Hall which is downstairs in the Chapel.

The Foods in Faith students will attend some of these services and visiting the art studio. Daily matins are at 7:00 am and vespers at 5:30 pm. Divine Liturgies will be celebrated on scheduled days as part of the Chant Academy, but often the Iconography and Foods students need to leave after matins to begin their classes and follow their program of learning.

There is a nice coffee break in the iconography studio just before vespers where you can see the progress the students are making on their icon. Please note that the The Diakonia Retreat Center has a lovely path around the lake and canoes are available. Please be sure to take note of the safety regulations and enjoy the peace and beauty and the spirit of The Liturgical Arts Academy.
